Index Institute of Dental Sciences, Indore, organized a Value Added Course on “Online Frauds, Telephonic Fraud and Fraudulent Transactions” on 28 February 2026 with the objective of creating awareness about the growing threats in the digital world. The seminar was conducted to educate students, faculty members, and healthcare professionals about various forms of cybercrime and the importance of adopting safe online practices. With the increasing dependence on digital platforms for communication, banking, and academic activities, the programme emphasized the need for vigilance and responsible digital behavior.
The session was delivered by Mr. Manish Satpal, Senior Technology Head and Corporate Trainer, who shared valuable insights into the latest cyber fraud techniques, including phishing attacks, OTP scams, UPI frauds, telephonic frauds, identity theft, and social media scams. Through practical examples and real-life case studies, he explained how fraudsters exploit human psychology to deceive individuals into sharing confidential information. He also highlighted essential preventive measures such as protecting personal credentials, verifying suspicious calls and messages, using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and reporting fraudulent activities to the concerned authorities without delay. The interactive nature of the seminar encouraged active participation, with students and faculty engaging in discussions and seeking guidance on digital security concerns.
The programme concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing the enthusiastic participation of attendees and reinforcing the significance of cyber awareness in today’s technology-driven society. The seminar not only enhanced participants’ understanding of online safety but also encouraged them to become responsible digital citizens capable of identifying and preventing cyber threats.
