The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Index Institute of Dental Sciences, Malwanchal University, organized a seminar on “The Healthy Mind: Balancing Life, Stress and Mental Wellness” on August 21, 2026, at the college auditorium. The seminar aimed to create awareness about the importance of mental health, stress management, and maintaining a healthy balance in everyday life. The program was coordinated by Dr. Ranjan Mani Tripathi and Dr. Chirag Vyas and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 100 students and faculty members. The initiative provided an engaging platform for participants to understand the significance of mental wellness and learn practical ways to manage stress effectively.
The program commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a floral welcome by Dean Dr. Rosaiah Kanaparthi for the keynote speaker, Dr. Garv Jani from the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Jani delivered an insightful and interactive lecture on the impact of stress on physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. He discussed common stressors and emphasized the importance of identifying them at an early stage. He also shared practical strategies for maintaining mental wellness, including proper sleep, regular exercise, effective time management, healthy routines, and self-care. The interactive Q&A session encouraged participants to discuss their concerns, identify personal stressors, and understand positive and healthy coping mechanisms.
The seminar successfully highlighted that mental wellness is an integral part of overall health and encouraged students to give equal importance to their emotional and psychological well-being. The engaging discussions and interaction with the keynote speaker provided participants with valuable insights that can be applied in their academic, professional, and personal lives. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Suparna Ganguly, who expressed gratitude to the keynote speaker, Dean, coordinators, faculty members, and participants for their valuable contribution to the successful organization of the seminar. The event reflected the Department of Public Health Dentistry’s commitment to promoting holistic health awareness and fostering a healthier, more balanced academic community.
