Oral Hygiene day is celebrated all across India on August 1st to commemorate the ‘Birth Anniversary of Dr. G.B. Shankwalkar, the doyen of Indian Periodontology and Founding member of the Indian Society of Periodontology. As a part of this celebration, multiple programmes are held to spread the awareness among the public regarding the importance of oral hygiene in maintaining good oral health.
On the occasion of Oral Hygiene Day on 01st August, 2020, the Department of Periodontology, Index Institute of Dental Sciences, Malwanchal University conducted a Video Competition on the following topics:
- Tooth Brushing Methods
- Oral Hygiene Instructions to the patients
- Myths Surrounding Periodontal Treatment
- Do’s and Don’ts for Good Oral Hygiene
The competition was open to 3rd and 4th years BDS Students and Interns.
A panel of senior teachers was constituted to adjudicate the winners.
